The opening scene of Miley Cyrus’ “Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard Sessions)” features all the hallmarks of a California backyard: a pool, a patio, seating areas, strolling paths lined with native plants, and Mid-Century Modern buildings. Additionally, the Santa Monica and San Gabriel mountains may be seen in the background as the white-clad pop chanteuse performs.
The home is now back on the market for $16.5 million in Chatsworth, a suburban neighbourhood in the San Fernando Valley.
The Farralone House was designed by renowned architect William Pereira in 1951 for banking heiress Dora Hutchinson. It’s been a sanctuary for celebs since then, according to the listing with Mike Deasy of DPP Real Estate, from Frank Sinatra (who lived there in the 1950s and 1960s) through Judy Garland and Lucille Ball.

In an email, Mr. Deasy, chairman of DPP, said, “Farralone presents a rare and brilliant hilltop exposition of the post-war California Bauhaus by a master architect.”
The roughly 14-acre estate has been on and off the market for years. It served as the backdrop for “Mad Men” and “Dreamgirls” (2006). It was listed in 2015, again in 2018, and for $21.5 million in 2021, according to a prior report by Mansion Global. According to Mansion Global at the time, it was relisted last October for $12.75 million without the adjoining 7-acre site with zoning for 10 new homes. The entire estate was relisted at the end of March.
The mansion includes six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, hardwood and zebra cork flooring, brilliant white interiors, built-in cabinetry, 16-foot ceilings, and movable walls that lead to the outside, according to the description. It has a view of the 1,325-acre Lake Chatsworth natural area as well as other mountain ranges.
The dining room, kitchen, and three en-suite bedrooms are located in one wing of the house, while the primary bedroom is located in the other. There is also a pool house and gym, as well as a one-bedroom guest house with its own pool and a spacious motor court.
In addition, Ms. Cyrus, 30, shot the music video for her smash song “Flowers,” which was made public in January before the release of her full-length album, “Endless Summer Vacation,” in March.
