This time, the alligators are smarter, the storm is bigger, and the stakes are deadlier than ever.
Directed once again by Alexandre Aja (Crawl, The Hills Have Eyes), Crawl 2 introduces Millie Bobby Brown in the lead role as Riley Greene, a fiercely independent teenage marine biology student who returns to her hometown in the Florida wetlands—just as a Category 5 hurricane unleashes a new terror lurking beneath the floodwaters.
“We’re not at the top of the food chain anymore,” Brown’s character whispers in the trailer, as a guttural growl echoes from the dark.
Set several years after the events of the original, Crawl 2 expands the horror from the confines of a basement to an entire submerged town. Brown’s character, stranded and cut off from help, must lead a group of survivors through collapsing homes, flooded roads, and underwater tunnels swarming with deadly, mutated apex predators.
The trailer showcases:
-
Claustrophobic, edge-of-your-seat sequences in flooded stairwells
-
Alligators breaching rooftops
-
Millie Bobby Brown fighting for survival with improvised weapons and terrifying determination
Also starring Michael Cudlitz (The Walking Dead) as a hardened search-and-rescue commander and Jenna Ortega in a cameo role, the film blends disaster-movie thrills with creature-feature horror.
“Crawl 2 is bigger, wetter, and meaner,” Aja teased at a press event. “We’ve expanded the world but stayed true to the primal fear that made the original so effective.”
Crawl 2 is set to flood theaters on August 15, 2025 — just in time for storm season.
