The modern three-story property is situated on the wealthy, guard-gated Palm Island in the city, where, according to data from realtor.com, the average asking price for a home in July was $21 million, a startling 200 percent rise over the same period in 2020.
He spent $18 million on the property
Floyd Mayweather, 44, was named the decade’s highest-paid athlete in 2019 by Forbes after earning $915 million over a 10-year period. He made the purchase last week, according to public documents, through a Nevada-based limited liability corporation that he oversees.
His magnificent new property spans 10,853 square feet and provides unimpeded views of the city skyline, passing cruise ships, and the coveted city sunset, according to the listing with Dina Goldentayer and Ana Viyella of Douglas Elliman, who declined to comment on the sale.
According to the description, the nine-bedroom estate was intended for both inside and outdoor entertainment. It contains a gym, a game room, a huge entertainment space, smart-home devices, and an elevator, as well as neutral, contemporary decor.
There is also a rooftop deck, a pool, a four-car garage, and a private dock capable of accommodating 100-foot vessels.
Tanasha Pettigrew of Galleria International Realty represented Mr. Mayweather during the transaction.
This most recent property purchase by Mr. Mayweather joins his opulent $10 million Las Vegas mansion from 2018 and his $26 million French Modern Beverly Hills estate from 2017 in his real estate portfolio.
The 1996 Olympic bronze medalist in the featherweight division, Mr. Mayweather retired in August 2017 with a flawless record.
An inquiry for comment was not immediately answered by the boxer’s agent.
