Bryson DeChambeau has claimed it was his “responsibility” to promote this week’s LIV Golf event in area close to his heart in Dallas.
DeChambeau will be looking to win the second LIV title of his 2025 campaign this week, one month after securing victory in South Korea. The event, which takes place down the road from his residence in Grapevine, seemingly means a lot to the two-time U.S. Open champion.
Keen to spread the word about this week’s tournament at Maridoe Golf Club, DeChambeau said: “For me, it’s my hometown (tournament) in a sense. I’m in Dallas. I live in Grapevine.
“It’s still pretty much my hometown and my home tournament, I would say. That’s quite honestly why I think I was given the responsibility — even though I didn’t have to, a responsibility to promote the event is because I want to showcase this great golf course and what LIV product is all about.
“The team competition about it, how diabolical it can be and how difficult it can be to win not only an individual title out here but a Team Championship title out here.” DeChambeau is unsurprisingly looking forward to the 54-hole tournament.
Hyping up the support the Crushers captain is expecting this week, he commented: “I’m excited for this week. I think having it be my own tournament is going to be a lot of fun. I think it’s great to come to Dallas and have everybody come out and support us.

“I think there’s going to be upwards of 40,000 people potentially here this week, so it’s going to be a lot of fun, and I’m super excited for the week. The golf course is in incredible shape. It’s going to be a tough test of golf. Man, what a fiery place this could be. I’m excited for the week.”
DeChambeau, who also pledged his backing behind Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley in his pre-tournament press conference, has been a man in form in 2025, having picked up two top-five finishes on the major championship stage, while sitting second in the season-long LIV standings.
The former PGA Tour man will be hoping to continue this run in Dallas this week, and believes his ability to hit the ball further than most in the field will help him around Maridoe.” I would say I can hit a lot of irons off the tees to keep myself in play and out of the rough,” he explained.
“Which I probably won’t do because I like hitting driver. But I’d say from a driving perspective, I can have a bit of an advantage just hitting irons off the tee, and there are a couple of par-fives that I can reach in two with my length.
“I’ve just got to be careful of the runout. I’ve got to do a little bit more due diligence on how far balls are running out in the fairways and account for that tomorrow. But a lot of it’s going to be how I drive the ball this week.”
