Tiger Woods’ former coach, Hank Haney, recently went viral for his comments on the current state of the PGA Tour. Haney commented about the Rocket Mortgage Classic, dropping a controversial take that it’s “easier than” to win on the PGA Tour.
“Not one member of the Corrupt Golf Media has written an article or talked about how it’s easier than ever to win on the PGA Tour, which is one of the many reasons why they are charter members of the CGM,” said Haney on X.
Haney spent time as Woods’ golf coach from 2004-2010. Woods won six majors and 31 PGA Tour titles while working with Haney.
The 68-year-old has been infamous for calling golf fans online the “Corrupt Golf Media.” He sent his message on the PGA Tour after Cameron Davis earned the Rocket Mortgage Classic victory on June 30th.

Golf fans online reacted to Haney’s take, seemingly furious with the controversial declaration. Haney didn’t reveal much reasoning why he believes the PGA Tour is “easier than ever,” but fans made sure to call him out on that take.
“How is it easier? You still have to beat a field of 144,” said one fan.
Many fans were debating between the influence of the PGA Tour and LIV Golf. Haney’s statement on social media has over 200 comments and over 170,000 views on X.
“[It’s] much easier to win on LIV! Top 10 is 40th from last Intramural League. Own it, Henry,” said another fan.
