Lock your doors—or don’t. Because The Purge is back.
Universal Pictures has just released the official trailer for The Purge 4: The Most Dangerous Night Is Back, reigniting the brutally gripping dystopian saga that has captivated horror-thriller fans for over a decade. This new installment takes the franchise to even darker territory, promising an unrelenting descent into chaos.
Set five years after the collapse of the New Founding Fathers regime, The Purge 4 explores a society teetering between lawlessness and a fragile new order. When a rogue political faction secretly reinstates Purge Night in a lawless zone known as “Sector 7,” survivors are forced to fight for their lives all over again.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jurnee Smollett, and Pedro Pascal headline the cast, portraying characters who must navigate a maze of betrayal, masked militias, and high-tech surveillance during what becomes the most violent Purge in U.S. history.
Directed by Gerard McMurray, the film blends the brutal survivalism of The First Purge with the sociopolitical commentary of Election Year, all while introducing terrifying new Purge rules—like AI drones and “sanctioned zones.”
The trailer teases grim visuals: flaming cityscapes, a masked executioner livestreaming 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁s, and a chilling voiceover: “This isn’t just a purge. It’s a reset.”
The Purge 4 is set to hit theaters on September 13, 2025, just in time for a blood-soaked fall season.
