Cardi B is popularly known for being provocative whether it be in her outfits and red-carpet appearances, or her live TV performances on award ceremonies. However, there was one specific performance that broke the internet and the rapper took her time recently to reflect on it.

According to Uproxx, the musician performed the track “WAP” together with Megan Thee Stallion during the 2021 Grammy Awards and it received negative comments and remarks from social media users that lasted for days.

Looking back at the show, Cardi B took to her official Twitter account to share her sentiments over the matter.

“Y’all remember when the FCC almost sued me cuz I performed WAP at the Grammys?” she wrote.

The mom of two didn’t stop there as she also recalled the time when Republicans “literally harassed” her for the live performance and it was on the news almost every day.

“Y’all remember? Oooohhh cuz I do,” she added.

Cardi B ‘WAP’ Grammys Performance Controversy

The performance made a lot of headlines days after the Grammys 2021 aired and conservative commentator Tucker Carlson shared his thoughts over the performance, especially because at the time, the rapper was set to appear on the animated show “Baby Shark’s Big Show!” on Nickelodeon.

“It’s like a lot of growling and 𝓈ℯ𝓍less talking about 𝓈ℯ𝓍. And if you think it’s an overstatement, check out this song from someone calling herself Cardi B,” he said. (via BET)

He then played the music video of the song and he even reacted to the Grammys performance itself and noted that the rapper and her collaborator, Megan Thee Stallion, were trying to degrade their culture and “hurt our 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥ren.”

Cardi B Updates

In recent updates about the rapper, the musician is going through a tumultuous time with her relationship with Offset as she had been accused of cheating on him.

According to Jezebel, the male rapper took to his Instagram stories to share then delete a post alleging that his partner had cheated on him.

Cardi B won’t put up without a fight as she shared her thoughts on Twitter spaces, saying he can’t accuse her of “all the things you know that you are guilty of.”

The musician then sang Keyshia Cole’s track “I Should Have Cheated.”
