Plot Overview
Set in the aftermath of She-Hulk and Secret Wars, World War Hulk follows Bruce Banner as he struggles to control a new, more dangerous incarnation of the Hulk. After being exiled by Earth’s heroes due to rising instability and collateral destruction, Banner is sent to a distant planet where he’s expected to live in peace.
But peace isn’t what he finds.
Instead, Banner is forced into gladiatorial combat, rising as a warlord on a ravaged alien world — only to return to Earth with an army and one goal: vengeance.
Trailer Highlights:
-
Hulk in full battle armor, smashing through legions of alien creatures in an arena soaked in fire.
-
A teary confrontation between Bruce Banner and his son Skaar, who pleads: “You’re not my father. You’re the monster they said you were.”
-
Explosive cameos from She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), and Sam Wilson’s Captain America (Anthony Mackie).
-
The final shot: Hulk standing atop a shattered Avengers Tower, roaring as Earth’s heroes prepare for war.
Tone and Style
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi), the film carries an epic, almost Shakespearean tone — filled with betrayal, identity crisis, and apocalyptic action. The score by Lorne Balfe blends tribal war drums with operatic swells, giving Hulk’s inner chaos a thunderous soundtrack.
This is not “Smart Hulk.” This is Savage Hulk — re𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧, rejected, and ready to bring down the world that turned its back on him.
