Hollywood, May 19, 2025 — After two decades of silence, the green-faced mischief is back — and this time, he’s got a god on his side. New Line Cinema has just dropped the first official trailer for “The Mask 3: Rise of Loki”, the long-awaited sequel starring Jim Carrey, Cameron Diaz, and a surprise Marvel crossover with Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Loki.

The trailer opens with a familiar beat — a dusty wooden mask being discovered in an ancient Norwegian temple. Narrated by a chilling voice, it teases, “What was once a joke… is now a weapon.”
Jim Carrey returns in full, chaotic glory as Stanley Ipkiss, a man who thought he was done with the Mask until his son is mysteriously abducted. Meanwhile, Cameron Diaz, reprising her role as Tina Carlyle, is now a successful TV journalist who uncovers the mythological origins of the mask — and the dark force behind it: the Norse god of mischief himself, Loki.
Tom Hiddleston joins the madness in a genre-defying role that blurs the lines between superhero and supervillain. This version of Loki is far more menacing than Marvel fans may expect — theatrical, darkly funny, and obsessed with reclaiming the mask he forged centuries ago.
“My magic created the Mask. But you… made it into a circus,” Hiddleston’s Loki sneers in the trailer’s climax, just before a reality-bending battle erupts in downtown Los Angeles — with cartoon hammers, shapeshifting chaos, and a dance-off involving hundreds of possessed civilians.
Directed by Matthew Vaughn (Kingsman, X-Men: First Class), the film promises a “high-octane, surrealist comedy-action hybrid,” with visuals blending Who Framed Roger Rabbit energy and Doctor Strange-level dimension warping. The soundtrack, once again, leans heavily into jazz, swing, and modern remixes.
In a press statement, Carrey called the film “the wildest ride I’ve ever taken — and that’s saying something.” Diaz praised the script’s emotional heart, noting that “under all the madness, this movie is about family, legacy, and second chances.”
“The Mask 3: Rise of Loki” is set to hit theaters worldwide on December 12, 2025, and will be accompanied by an exclusive tie-in comic and animated series spin-off in early 2026.
