The 55-second teaser, released on YouTube and social media late last night, opens with haunting piano notes over darkened shots of Haddonfield, Illinois. A voiceover whispers, “You can’t escape what’s been waiting…” before cutting to quick flashes of Michael Myers’ signature mask, a bloodstained knife, and terrified townspeople barricading their homes.
Jenna Ortega, fresh off her rise to fame with Wednesday and Scream, plays Emily Carter, a college student returning to Haddonfield after years away. In the teaser, she’s seen frantically flipping through old news clippings about the Myers murders, before turning to the camera with a chilling whisper: “He’s back.”
Director David Gordon Green, who rebooted the franchise in 2018, returns as producer, while up-and-coming horror director Chloe Zhao (known for blending emotional depth with eerie visuals) steps behind the camera for this new chapter. According to official synopses, Halloween (2025) picks up four years after the events of Halloween Ends, with Myers mysteriously surviving and plotting a final massacre.
Jamie Lee Curtis does not return for this installment, with the story focusing on a younger cast navigating Michael’s renewed 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ing spree. Fans are already buzzing online, calling Ortega’s casting “perfect” and praising the teaser’s atmospheric tension.
Universal confirmed the full trailer will debut in June, with the film set for an October 17, 2025, release — just in time for Halloween.
