SZA Becomes the 4th Black Female Artist to Gross Over $100M From a Single Tour

Singer SZA has made music history with her ‘SOS Tour,’ becoming only the fourth Black female artist to gross over $100 million from a single tour. With this milestone, she joins the ranks of Beyonce, Tina Turner, and Rihanna.

The SOS Tour, which was SZA’s second concert tour and first arena tour, has grossed an impressive $113,119,055 and sold 807,700 tickets. The tour supported SZA’s successful sophomore album, ‘SOS,’ which topped the Billboard 200 chart for 10 consecutive weeks.

This milestone follows SZA’s headline performance at Glastonbury, where she shared the stage with artists like Dua Lipa and Coldplay, earning high praise from critics.

SZA, whose real name is Solána Imani Rowe, has carved out an impressive career as both a singer and songwriter, becoming one of the most influential voices in contemporary R&B. Her unique blend of soulful melodies, introspective lyrics, and ethereal production has garnered widespread acclaim and a dedicated fanbase. Since the release of her debut album “Ctrl” in 2017, SZA has been praised for her ability to convey raw emotion and vulnerability through her music, making her a standout artist in the industry.

One of her biggest songs, “Love Galore,” featuring Travis Scott, became an anthem of modern relationships, showcasing her knack for creating relatable and catchy tracks. Another major hit, “The Weekend,” further solidified her status as a powerful voice in R&B, with its candid exploration of romantic complexities. “Good Days,” released in 2020, became a beacon of hope and positivity during challenging times, demonstrating SZA’s versatility and ability to connect with listeners on a deep level. These songs, among others, have not only achieved commercial success but have also resonated deeply with fans worldwide.

SZA’s success extends beyond her own releases, as she has also made significant contributions as a songwriter and collaborator. Her work with other artists, including Kendrick Lamar on the Grammy-winning track “All the Stars” for the “Black Panther” soundtrack, has showcased her broad range and influence in the music industry. She continues to push boundaries and redefine the R&B genre, earning accolades and solidifying her legacy as one of the most successful and innovative artists of her generation.
