Warner Bros. has just dropped the long-awaited Gremlins 4 – Official Trailer 2025, reigniting the chaotic charm and mischievous terror of the iconic Mogwai creatures in a bold new chapter.
The trailer opens with a voiceover from none other than Zach Galligan, reprising his role as Billy Peltzer, now older, wiser, and deeply haunted by the past. Set in a futuristic New York City recovering from a wave of strange attacks, Gremlins 4: Rise of the Mogwai wastes no time diving back into the unpredictable world of the mysterious creatures that should never be fed after midnight.
“They’re not just back… they’ve evolved,” the trailer warns ominously, over footage of the Gremlins wreaking havoc inside a tech lab.
For the first time, the Gremlins are introduced as a hybrid threat — a terrifying consequence of unethical genetic experiments gone wrong. Gizmo returns in the trailer, now more expressive and central to the plot than ever before. In a heart-tugging moment, Gizmo whispers, “Too many… too angry,” as an army of mutated Gremlins descends on a neon-lit Times Square.
Chris Columbus, who directed the original two films, is back as executive producer, with director Leigh Whannell (The Invisible Man, Upgrade) at the helm for this darker, more intense chapter.
In a surprising twist, the trailer also features a cameo by Winona Ryder, playing a government scientist obsessed with studying Mogwai DNA. “We thought we could control them. We were wrong,” she says before a Gremlin lunges at the camera.
According to Warner Bros. CEOs Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy, Gremlins 4 is part of a broader plan to revive the franchise, alongside the ongoing animated series Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai and Gremlins: The Wild Batch on Max.
While a specific release date hasn’t been officially confirmed, the trailer simply ends with “COMING 2025,” sending fans into a frenzy across social media.
Early reactions call the trailer “a nostalgic thrill ride” and “the Gremlins movie we didn’t know we needed,” with fans praising the mix of practical effects and CGI that stays true to the original’s spirit.
Whether you’re a longtime fan or a newcomer to the Gremlins universe, Gremlins 4 promises to be a wild, chaotic, and surprisingly emotional return to one of horror-comedy’s most beloved franchises.
Let the madness begin — just don’t forget the rules.
