The Mummy (1999) Cast Then and Now 2025, The Actors Are Unrecognisable Today

In a nostalgic look back at the 1999 classic “The Mummy,” fans are reminded of the unforgettable characters and their iconic portrayals. From action to romance, the film captivated audiences and launched the careers of several actors, many of whom have undergone striking transformations over the years.

At the center of the film is Imhotep, played by Arnold Vosloo, who was 37 years old during filming. Vosloo’s character, an ancient Egyptian high priest, embodied both menace and tragedy as he sought to reunite with his forbidden love, Anck-Su-Namun. Now 61, Vosloo has maintained a successful career, recognized for his work in both films and television, including roles in “24” and “NCIS.”

Brendan Fraser, who portrayed the adventurous Rick O’Connell at age 30, became a household name thanks to the film and its sequels. Now 55, Fraser’s journey through Hollywood has seen ups and downs, but his recent Academy Award win for “The Whale” marks a triumphant return to the spotlight.

John Hannah, then 37, played Jonathan Carnahan, the comedic relief and treasure hunter. Now 61, Hannah’s versatility has shone through in various roles, including “Four Weddings and a Funeral” and “Spartacus.”

The film also featured memorable performances from Kevin J. O’Connor as the treacherous Benny, now 60, and Oded Fehr as the noble warrior Ardeth Bay, 53. Both actors have found continued success in their respective careers, contributing to the film’s enduring legacy.

Rachel Weisz, who portrayed the resourceful Evelyn Carnahan at 29, has blossomed into an acclaimed actress, earning an Academy Award for her role in “The Constant Gardener.” Now 54, Weisz remains a prominent figure in Hollywood.

As fans celebrate the film’s impact, the transformation of its cast serves as a testament to their talent and resilience in the ever-evolving entertainment industry. “The Mummy” continues to hold a special place in cinematic history, with its actors proving that time, while changing appearances, cannot diminish their iconic status.
