Lewis Hamilton Unintentionally Reveals Ferrari SF-25’s ‘Worst-Kept Secret’ and ‘Only Big Change’

Lewis Hamilton has inadvertently confirmed one of Ferrari’s most speculated design changes ahead of the official launch of the SF-25. The seven-time world champion, known for his meticulous approach to racing and technical awareness, let slip a crucial detail about the Italian team’s latest Formula 1 challenger.

During a media interaction, Hamilton was discussing the competitive landscape for the upcoming 2025 season when he made an unexpected revelation.

“It’s no surprise that Ferrari finally went with the pull-rod front suspension—everyone’s been talking about it for a while. But that’s their only real big change,” Hamilton stated.

His comment inadvertently confirmed what had long been suspected within the paddock: Ferrari’s transition to a pull-rod front suspension system, aligning with designs previously adopted by Red Bull and McLaren. While Ferrari had kept their development plans under wraps, Hamilton’s remark solidified speculation and provided insight into the team’s aerodynamic and mechanical strategy for 2025.

A Long-Awaited Change

The adoption of a pull-rod front suspension is a significant departure from Ferrari’s previous push-rod setup. This design change is expected to improve aerodynamic efficiency by lowering the front suspension components, allowing cleaner airflow towards the floor and sidepods—key areas for performance gains under the current ground-effect regulations.

Ferrari has reportedly been evaluating this transition for several seasons, with the move finally materializing in 2025. The design is intended to enhance the car’s overall balance and tire management, a factor that has been a challenge in past seasons.

Beyond Suspension: More to the SF-25?

While Hamilton described the suspension overhaul as the “only big change” in Ferrari’s SF-25, experts suggest there could be additional updates yet to be unveiled. Ferrari’s aerodynamic department has likely fine-tuned various elements, including the sidepod design and floor structure, to maximize performance under the latest FIA regulations.

The SF-25 is set to be officially revealed later this week, with Ferrari expected to showcase the complete extent of their 2025 design philosophy. Hamilton’s revelation, however, has already given fans and analysts a glimpse into what the Scuderia has in store.

As Ferrari aims to challenge Red Bull’s dominance and bring the title fight back to Maranello, all eyes will be on the SF-25’s track debut and whether its design changes can translate into race-winning performance.

Hamilton, who has been linked with a future move to Ferrari, may have just provided an unintentional preview of what could be his next car.
