In the game between the St. Louis Blues and Ottawa Senators on Friday saw tensions boil over late in the first period. Senators defenseman Travis Hamonic was on the receiving end of a hard, legal check into the boards by Blues forward Nathan Walker behind Ottawa’s net.
This hit prompted Ottawa forward Cole Reinhardt to immediately drop his gloves and engage Walker in a fight in retaliation.

The two players throwed several punches each before the officials quickly intervened to break up. Both Reinhardt and Nathan Walker were assessed 5-minute major penalties for fighting as a result of the incident.
At the time of the fight, the Blues held a 2-0 lead over the Senators, thanks to first period goals from Brandon Saad and Brayden Schenn.
