A little support can go a long way indeed. In September, Tiger Woods underwent the sixth surgery on his lower back in the past 10 years. The 15x major winner last teed off in July at the Open Championship, where he missed the cut. It has been three months, and there has been no news of his return as of now as he is still recovering from his surgery, but that does not mean he is not getting support from his loyal fans.
Chances are he could tee off at the Hero World Challenge. The lineup for Woods’s Bahamas event was unveiled on Wednesday, featuring 17 out of 20 spots filled by some of golf’s biggest stars. Three spots for sponsors exemption are yet to be filled, and like last year, he could take one. So, who is the 48-year-old’s ray of hope as he recovers? Tiger Woods’s niece Cheyenne Woods’s, 2-year-old son Cameron Jaxson Hicks. He seems to be a golf enthusiast already and loves watching his mom’s uncle on TV.
A few hours ago, she took to her official Instagram account and posted a story where Hicks was spotted watching a documentary featuring Tiger Woods. Woods was wearing his red T-shirt, which according to the superstition, Woods wears for the Sunday round. Cameron sat in front of the TV, and the moment he saw Woods walking up, he started cheering, “Go Tiger Woods, guy!” On and on. Talk about cuteness.
Tiger Woods’s dark times continue to loom, as there is still uncertainty about whether he will be able to tee off at the PNC Championship in December with his son Charlie Woods. His participation in the Hero World Challenge is also dicey as of now but the chances of his return are strong, especially based on past patterns.
In 2017, he returned to the Bahamas event after a nine-month hiatus after his fourth back surgery. In 2016 as well, he returned to the tournament after two consecutive back surgeries. The case was the same in 2014. The 2011 edition was his first victory after a tumultuous two years of personal and professional trouble.
It has not been that long since the little Cameron had his mom make a special request on his behalf.
Will Tiger Woods give in to his great nephew’s request? It has been six years since Tiger Woods began hosting the Genesis Invitational, and he oversees every aspect of the event, from the Pro-Am to the final rounds. As the host, his family has a unique request for him! When the entire family was at the Pro-Am, Cameron Hicks, along with his mother and uncle, made one or two swings. Some of them were exceptional for a 2-year-old.
That was when Cheyenne Woods spoke about her son’s s𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁s. She also added, “He’s requesting his pro-am spot for next year, though.” Great Uncle will probably give in to the cutest request made on behalf of his little nephew. Back in February at Riviera was the first time after a long time that Tiger Woods was spotted with his half-niece and his great nephew.
