Six-time major champion Phil Mickelson claimed LIV Golf are exploring the option of signing more players but refused to reveal who the breakaway are targeting.
Phil Mickelson says there continues to be interest from PGA Tour players about joining the breakaway LIV Golf League.
But the six-time major champ refused to reveal which golfers are thinking about making the jump for 2025.
Mickelson made a similar declaration 12 months ago.
“The reality is, I’ve been fielding calls, as we all have, from players that are free agents to PGA Tour players to DP World Tour players that want to come over,” he said back then.
Jon Rahm ultimately became the Saudi-backed league’s marquee signing and last week he was crowned LIV’s individual champion.
He was joined by his European Ryder Cup teammate Tyrrell Hatton.
Poland’s Adrian Meronk also joined LIV last year, revealing his omission from the Ryder Cup team contributed to his decision to switch tours.
Mickelson wasn’t as open on the topic on Wednesday when the hall of famer and the other LIV captains took part in a news conference ahead of this weekend’s team championship in Dallas.
Asked if he had heard about a similar level of interest from players from rival tours, Mickelson said: “Yes.”
So was he prepared to expand on the topic?
“No.”
Fair enough, then.
For now, Mickelson does not have any vacancies on his HyFlyers team.
Brendan Steele, Andy Ogletree and Cameron Tringale all avoided relegation.
Mickelson could make some trades in the off-season.
Two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson, Branden Grace, Kalle Samooja, Kieran Vincent and Scott Vincent were the golfers that were relegated in 2025.
