Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has revealed he will be out of action for “a few weeks” due to a muscle injury. The 19-year-old sustained the injury during United’s 0-0 Premier League draw against Aston Villa and had to withdraw from England’s squad for their Nations League games last week.
In a statement, Mainoo addressed the situation, saying, “I’m disappointed to be sidelined, but I’ll work hard during my recovery to come back stronger.”
The young talent’s absence adds to United’s growing injury list. Defender Harry Maguire is also expected to miss a few weeks after picking up an injury in the same match against Villa.
Meanwhile, Noussair Mazraoui has returned to training following a minor medical procedure after experiencing heart palpitations. Midfielder Manuel Ugarte also underwent recovery after suffering a knock during Uruguay’s World Cup qualifying match against Ecuador.
On a brighter note, Alejandro Garnacho (knee) and Amad Diallo (illness) have resumed training and are likely to feature in United’s upcoming clash against Brentford at Old Trafford.
Despite these returns, key players like Mason Mount, Luke Shaw, and Tyrell Malacia remain sidelined, with the team hoping for their swift recovery as the season progresses.
