Captain Britain, Henry Cavill’s dream MCU role is officially a match for Thor, Marvel has confirmed. Captain Britain is a fan favorite character, and acclaimed actor Henry Cavill has expressed interest in playing him in the MCU.
While Captain Britain is powerful, he has not shown the ability to go toe to toe with Asgardians such as Thor, but in Ultimate Universe #1, he does just that.
Ultimate Universe #1 is written by Jonathan Hickman and drawn by Stefano Caselli. Thor has been sprung from his jail by the new Ultimate Doctor Doom and Iron Lad. The Maker, the former leader of the world, had stolen items that would have given people super-powers, in a bid to shape the world to his desires. Doom, Iron Lad, Thor and Sif head to Latveria to retrieve the stolen goods. Upon arrival, they see the containers the Maker is storing his ill-begotten materials in and just as Thor goes to open them, he is stabbed by Captain Britain’s Sword of Might, which seriously injures the Asgardian.
