In a gripping display of physicality during Tuesday’s preseason matchup, Montreal Canadiens forward Kirby Dach and Ottawa Senators forward Ridly Greig engaged in a fierce altercation that left fans buzzing. The incident unfolded in the third period after Greig delivered a late hit on Dach, igniting tensions between the two players on the ice.

As the situation escalated, both players squared off, dropping their gloves in a classic hockey fight.

By leveraging his size advantage, Kirby Dach landed a series of heavy right-hand punches that connected solidly with Greig. Despite Dach’s onslaught, Greig responded with a few punches. Ultimately, it was Dach who gained the upper hand, taking Greig down after an intense exchange.

Kirby Dach and Ridly Greg were initially assessed five-minute majors for fighting which were later upgraded to 10-minute misconducts. Following the altercation, Greig was forced to the locker room.

Kirby Dach and the Habs lose to Sens in preseason

On Tuesday, the Montreal Canadiens hosted the Ottawa Senators at Centre Bell Arena in a matchup that was marked by chaos, including multiple fights and injuries.

The game kicked off with Jake Evans scoring the opening goal for the Habs at 13:05 in the first period, giving the home side an early lead. In the second period, Kirby Dach extended the lead to 2-0 with a goal at 4:01.

However, the Senators quickly responded when Michael Amadio found the back of the net on the powerplay at 11:16, narrowing the score to 2-1. Three minutes later, Adam Gaudette tied the game for the visitors.

As the game progressed into the third period, Ridly Greig put the Sens ahead 3-2 with another powerplay goal. The Sens continued to dominate, with Carter Yakemchuk scoring yet again on the powerplay at 1:51 of the third period.

The Sens scored all four goals on the powerplay. Despite a late effort from Olivier Kapanen, who scored for the Habs, the final scoreline was 4-3 in favor of the Senators.

Both teams will square off for the last time on Sunday before preparing for the regular season. Meanwhile, the Senators will play against the Detroit Red Wings on Friday before capping off their preseason against the Habs.
