Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman and a terrifying vampire, leaving horror in its wake.
This upcoming American supernatural gothic horror film, written and directed by Robert Eggers, follows Werner Herzog’s Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979) and is the second remake of the 1922 film by F. W. Murnau. The cast includes Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney, and Willem Dafoe.
Development began in 2015 after The Witch, but Eggers postponed it to direct The Lighthouse and The Northman. Anya Taylor-Joy was initially attached but left due to scheduling conflicts. Skarsgård and Depp joined in September 2022, with Hoult and others confirmed in early 2023. Filming took place in Prague from February to May 2023.
