The Queensland Reds have signed former Rebels lock Josh Canham on a two year deal.
Canham is coming off a breakout season with the Melbourne club in 2024, putting him on the cusp of higher honours.
Tickets to the Wallabies 2024 Home Tests are available to purchase here.
The lock debuted for the Rebels in 2022, going on to play 34 games for the club.
Canham joins a stacked Reds second-row unit, with the likes of Ryan Smith and Angus Blyth called into the Wallabies squad for the July series.
โThe Redsโ style of play suits me. What I see is a fast, skilful game, especially with the way the forwards and backs connect. I look forward to being a part of it,โ Canham said.
โI talked to players and the coaches and all the things Iโve heard are that itโs a good environment to work in.
โIโve definitely got better in the tight stuff and I want to get better again next year.”
Canham is familiar with the Sunshine State, linking up with Bond University during the 2021 COVID shutdown period.
Reds GM of Rugby Sam Cordingley was thrilled to secure the services of Canham, believing he can be a point of difference for the club.
โHeโs got a strong ball carry but heโs also got a natural offload game,โ Cordingley said.
โThe lineout is such an important part of the game. Josh is not only a very good lineout caller but a particularly strong reader in defensive lineouts.
โHeโs progressing as one of the best young locks in the country.โ
