She squeezes in a workout before she hits the stage to look extra ripped.
Jennifer Lopez’s new movie, Marry Me, drops soon, and she went on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon alongside Maluma to plug their new single from the movie. Naturally, she brought her ridiculous abs out to play.
J.Lo worked a stunning white cut-out dress that was basically made for her 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁er abs. And, wowzer, she’s clearly been doing her core work lately. The 52-year-old flashed a serious six-pack from all angles.
Just check out this clip she posted on Instagram and try to pull your jaw off the floor:
OK, but how does Jen get such abs of steel?
For starters, she doesn’t slack on her core workouts. Her trainer, Dodd Romero, previously told O, the Oprah Magazine that his famous client’s workout consists of a set of 50 hanging ab raises followed by 50 rope crunches and 50 incline sit-ups with a 45-pound plate. You thought that was it? Noper.
J.Lo follows that up with another round of everything done in 35 reps, followed by a third set or 21 reps. Aaand she doesn’t take a break in between. Of course, abs aren’t all she focuses on. Romero told the magazine that she’ll exercise for about an hour, four to five days a week.
Jennifer even works out when she’s on tour, squeezing in an exercise session before she hits the stage, Romero said. “It’s her pre-game warmup,” he said.
J.Lo also works with trainer David Kirsch doing things like “planks, pushups, boxing. A bit of everything,” he told Hollywood Life.
Naturally, she eats well, too.
A typical lunch for her is salmon and a salad packed with vegetables like broccoli, peppers, and zucchini, per Hollywood Life. Dinner is usually some kind of protein with quinoa. “It feels like rice and beans, which I grew up with,” she said. “And I like pork and chicken — especially Puerto Rican style.”
J.Lo makes sure to stay well hydrated, too, sipping on water all day long.
“She drinks a minimum of seven glasses a day,” Romero told US Weekly. Jen also avoids alcohol and coffee. “I haven’t had caffeine in years,” she told Hollywood Life.
Overall, though, she tries to make sure she has a healthy balance. “Throughout the years I’ve learned the importance of maintaining a healthier […] diet,” J.Lo told People. “I still eat some of the foods I love, but in moderation. I don’t deprive myself.”
Those abs, though….
