Una amigable gata callejera apareció sola en un vecindario. Se la vio deambulando por las calles, buscando comida. Nadie en el área vino a reclamarla.
Un residente que había llegado a conocer al simpático perro callejero, se sorprendió un día al descubrir un cambio notable en el gato. “Pasó de estar agradablemente regordeta a sorprendentemente flaca de la noche a la mañana”, compartió Mary Huckabee, oficial de rescate de gatos de Coastal Bend (CBCR), con Love Meow.
Se dieron cuenta de que la gata debía estar embarazada y tener bebés, por lo que comenzaron a investigar el paradero de los gatitos.
Un residente se encontró con un gato callejero y encontró a sus gatitos debajo de su porche delantero.
La madre gata había estado en su casa antes de dar a luz, por lo que el residente recorrió las instalaciones en busca de cualquier señal de un gatito.
“Buscaron dónde podrían estar y finalmente los encontraron debajo de su porche delantero en un adorable charco de abrazos después de un par de días”.
La ubicación debajo del porche no era adecuada para criar gatitos. Junto con el calor del verano, sería insoportable para los recién nacidos.
El buscador contactó a su rescate local, CBCR, para que la familia felina pudiera obtener la ayuda que necesitaban para prosperar. Mientras esperaban que se arreglara un hogar de acogida, mantuvieron a la mamá gato bien alimentada y ayudaron a cuidar a sus bebés.
They were rescued and brought into a foster home
As soon as a foster family became available, the finder crawled under the porch and pulled the litter out to safety.
The stray mama watched the rescue effort unfold and was content to be transported along with her kittens, as if she had been waiting for this moment.
“Mama was so happy to be taken inside into a foster home,” Mary told Love Meow.
The cat named Tuba quickly settled into her new space and felt right at home. She was pleased with the arrangements and over the moon about all the food she could devour.

“She walks expectantly to the bowl every time her foster mom walks in the room and demands a refill.”
Tuba is a talker and doesn’t hesitate to voice her “opinions”. Food can never be served fast enough for the sweet chatty girl. She has four kittens, three cream and one orange, two boys and two girls.
Like their mother, the kittens were named after musical instruments in the brass family – Trombone, Trumpet, French Horn and Bugle.
Now at three weeks old, they are starting to explore around their pen. They are honing their gait under the watch of their doting mother who makes sure that they don’t wander off too far.
With newfound strength, the kittens are getting more active and curious, wrestling with each other, tottering up to their foster mom or squeaking for attention. “They are super chill and content to be held and cuddled.”
Tuba showers her demanding four with unconditional love but is always happy to get some help from her foster mom.
