Vin Diesel welcomes brother of late Paul Walker to set of Fast & Furious: ‘Always making Pablo proud!’

Vin Diesel welcomed Cody Walker, a brother of late Fast & Furious co-star Paul Walker, to the set of Fast & Furious 9 on Saturday.

The A-list action star, 52, posted a black and white shot of himself posing with Cody, 31, during production of the ninth installment of the action series.

‘There is something special that happens every time Cody comes to visit production…. Always making Pablo proud!’ he wrote. ‘All love, always.’

The latest: Vin Diesel, 52, welcomed the brother of late co-star Paul Walker to the set of Fast & Furious 9 on Saturday

Both of the men wore T-shirts and jeans in the shots from the set and Vin added the hashtags, #Fast92020 #Fatherhood and #FastFamily to the post.

Fast & Furious 9 will bring back cast mainstays Ludacris, Michelle Rodriguez and Tyrese, while WWE star John Cena arrives into the fold.

Paul Walker – a staple of the film series playing Brian O’Conner – died at the age of 40 on November 30, 2013 in a car wreck in Santa Clarita, California.

Cody and sibling Caleb, 41, helped filmmakers complete Furious 7, which was in production at the time, and the late actor’s face was superimposed onto the figure of his brothers. In the ending of the 2015 film, Walker’s O’Conner character retired, and remains alive within the storyline of the action film franchise.

Cody told the AP last year that it was possible the character could be reintroduced in the franchise – but it would have to be done carefully.

‘I think there could potentially be a way to do it,’ he said. ‘But it would take a lot of thought and it’d have to be tasteful. It would have to be tasteful.

He called his late brother ‘the real deal’ and ‘the real car guy,’ adding, ‘In his absence … I think it’s lost its way in a big way.’

Fast & Furious 9 is slated to debut May 22, 2020.
