Mystery character coming to Y&R.
Soap fans, get ready because Daytime Emmy award-winning Roger Howarth, the actor behind daytime icons such as Todd Manning from One Life to Live, Paul Ryan on As the World Turns and more recently, James Franco/Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt from General Hospital is heading to Genoa City this fall.
He’ll be involved in a “major story arc,” according to Deadline. The actor starts taping in mid-September, which means his debut will likely be around November. Nothing else is known about his character.
Since confirming his departure from General Hospital in November 2023, speculation has swirled about his next move. His goodbye to GH fans on Instagram stated, “Three things that I know for sure. 1, Daytime fans are lovely and amazing and supportive and dedicated and I am deeply grateful to each sparkly one of them. 2, I enjoyed my time at general hospital and wish the cast and crew the best and continued success. It was a pleasure working with you all. 3. Life is amazing. We just don’t ever know what’s gonna happen. How great! Turn toward the light. Always. Huge thank you to you all.”
About the new role, Howarth shared on Instagram, “Excited and appreciative… I’m a lucky guy…”
What role could Howarth play? Feel free to theorize in the comments.
