Lily can’t trust Cane. She wants to know why he hid behind the Aristotle Dumas identity. This news has been devastating for their kids. So, what would it take for these two to reconcile on The Young and the Restless?

Why Did Cane Hide?

Cane (Billy Flynn) went into hiding. He left his family behind and rebranded himself as an elusive billionaire. He told Lily (Christel Khalil) that he didn’t want to fail again. He already failed at their marriage. Now, he can finally prove to himself that he can stay committed.

Yet their kids feel betrayed by him. He failed them as a father. Lily is left speechless by the conversation they had with their kids. Cane asked her to help him tell Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry), but now he’s changed his mind. Lily didn’t expect his return to Genoa City to go down like this.

What Would It Take?

It’s inevitable that these two will get back together, but it will probably be a slow-burning reconciliation. Whenever she talks to him, she tells him how horrible he was to their family. Yet, there’s some part of her that’s still drawn to him. Maybe it’s all the history that they share.

Lily will forever be looking down on Cane and judging him. So, it would take a lot of trust and accountability on his part for a reconciliation to be on the table. But it doesn’t look like Cane wants to change anytime soon. He’s still going to be making shady business deals left and right.

Something else could go down in Genoa City, which could cause Can issues. For now, it doesn’t look like a reconciliation is in their immediate future. Lily is more focused on their kids, while Cane is focused on his investments. He’s bound to make a few more mistakes until she opens her heart up to him again.
