A24 has just dropped the chilling first trailer for Barbarian 2: The Second Door, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2022 horror hit Barbarian. The sequel, set to hit theaters in October 2025, brings together an all-star cast, including Florence Pugh, Andrew Garfield, and returning star Georgina Campbell.

Directed by Zach Cregger, who also helmed the original, Barbarian 2 promises to take the terror to new heights. The trailer opens with an unsettling glimpse inside an abandoned Detroit neighborhood, where a new group of unsuspecting visitors discovers a second hidden passage beneath the fateful house from the first film — this time, leading to an even darker underground labyrinth.
Florence Pugh stars as Claire, a journalist investigating the mysterious disappearances tied to the house’s grim history, while Andrew Garfield plays Daniel, a local contractor with a troubled past who becomes entangled in the horror. The trailer teases claustrophobic tunnels, grotesque creatures, and a shocking connection to the original film’s terrifying “Mother” character.
Fans were quick to react online, with many praising A24’s trademark atmospheric style and the eerie sound design teased in the trailer. “It’s not just a sequel — it’s a nightmare re𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧,” reads the official tagline, flashing across the screen just before a chilling final shot of a bloodied hand reaching through a cracked basement wall.
In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly, Pugh shared her excitement for the project: “I’ve always admired A24’s bold approach to horror, and when I read the script for Barbarian 2, I couldn’t put it down. It’s absolutely terrifying, but it also has a lot to say about fear, survival, and the past we can’t escape.”
Director Zach Cregger teased that The Second Door will expand the original’s mythology, revealing new secrets and horrors buried beneath the surface. “We’re pushing everything further — the tension, the scares, the emotional stakes,” Cregger said.
