Trent Alexander-Arnold sends emotional message to Real Madrid fans after scoring decisive goal for Liverpool

Trent Alexander-Arnold marked his return from injury in spectacular fashion by scoring the only goal in Liverpool’s narrow 1-0 win over Leicester City — a strike that not only brought his team within touching distance of the Premier League title but also served as a fitting farewell before his highly anticipated move to Real Madrid this summer.

The England international, who has already reached an agreement to join the Spanish giants at the end of the 2024/25 season, made a powerful statement in what could be one of his final appearances in a Liverpool shirt. After the match, he took the opportunity to reflect on his journey, share his joy, and send a heartfelt message to his future fanbase.

“I’ve had so many incredible memories at this stadium, even scored a few goals here,” Trent said. “But today… coming back after nearly a year out, and scoring the goal that brings us one step away from the title — it’s just something else. I’ve been working tirelessly over the past weeks to recover and get back on the pitch. I’ve missed playing so much, and to contribute like this means everything.”

His long-range strike secured all three points for Liverpool at King Power Stadium in Matchweek 33, taking the Reds to 79 points — 13 clear of second-place Arsenal. With just one more win needed to secure the title with four games to spare, Trent and his teammates are on the brink of Premier League glory.

“We’re so close to making this dream a reality,” Alexander-Arnold added. “One more win and it’s done. And the thought of doing it in front of our home fans — that’s going to be something special. It’s a moment I’ll never forget.”

As the full-back prepares to trade Anfield for the Santiago Bernabéu, he also took a moment to reach out to Real Madrid fans.

“I’m focused on finishing this chapter the right way with Liverpool,” he said. “But I also want to say something to the Real Madrid fans — I’ve felt the love and excitement from many of you already, and I can’t wait to play at the Bernabéu. It’s a dream for any player, and I’m ready to give my all for the badge, for the club, and for the fans. I hope to create something special together.”

Liverpool are set to face Tottenham at Anfield in Matchweek 34 — a match that could see them crowned Premier League champions in front of their home crowd. For Alexander-Arnold, it would be the perfect send-off before beginning a new chapter in Spain.
