In the second period during Wednesday’s matchup, Vancouver Canucks’ Conor Garland dropped the gloves with New Jersey Devils’ Erik Haula for a spirited bout.
With the Canucks down 3-0 in the second period, both players dropped their gloves near the boards, throwing some solid punches. As the altercation progressed, Haula took the upper hand, eventually taking Garland down with a decisive blow that concluded the bout.

In the aftermath, both players were hit with five-minute majors for fighting with each other. After Nico Hischier’s first goal with less than a minute into the first period, the Devils scored three more and led the Canucks 4-0 in the second period.
Erik Haula responds to Canucks crowd with flair after fight with Conor Garland
After the altercation with Garland, the home crowd at Rogers Arena jeered and booed him as he headed to the penalty box. In his reaction to the boos, Haula flashed a bright smile and blew a kiss to the crowd, showcasing his playful attitude despite the hostile reception.

Meanwhile, the matchup ended with the New Jersey Devils humiliating the Vancouver Canucks with a 6-0 win. This marked the second straight defeat for the Canucks, who are third in the Pacific Division with 11 points and overall 14th in the league standings.
The Canucks travel to SAP Center next to face the San Jose Sharks. The puck for the game is scheduled to drop at 10 p.m. ET.
