$60M-worth LIV Golfer indirectly buys stake in Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s company ahead of TGL’s start: Reports

LIV Golfer Brooks Koepka has invested a hefty amount in the global invite-only investment fund called Locker Room, which has a stake in Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s upcoming series, TGL. The American golfer recently invested in Locker Room alongside England men’s soccer team captain Harry Kane and St. Louis Blues captain Brayden Schenn.

Locker Room’s parent company is LEAD, known for its investments in TMRW Sports. Notably, TMRW Sports has heavily invested in TGL, the upcoming tech-infused golf series slated to start in January 2025. The golf series is founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy in collaboration with Mike McCarley.

This means that, indirectly, Brooks Koepka, who has a net worth of $60 million according to Celebrity Net Worth, has bought a stake in the renowned PGA Tour players’ company ahead of its first season.

Speaking of the new investment, Koepka said (via PRNewswire):

“Locker Room is unlike anything I’ve been involved in before. It’s not just another investment opportunity – it’s a chance to actively grow companies I’m genuinely passionate about. As an athlete, it’s empowering to invest in ventures that align with my personal interests and values. I am inspired by knowing that my insights can contribute to something bigger, and I’m thrilled to be part of this innovative approach to investing.”Brian Thompson, Fund CEO of the Locker Room, also opened up about the deal, saying:

“In addition to proactively seeking investment opportunities, we are excited to rely on our Locker Room shareholders to bring in potential investments that we can evaluate. We can tell athletes whether a deal is too risky, how we evaluate the competition, what would prevent something from being successful, or what we could do to turbo-charge the success of a company.”Notably, Thompson has previously contributed to the development of the Bahamas luxury resort in Albany, as reported by Sports Business Journal. Interestingly, the venue is the host of Tiger Woods’ Hero World Challenge series.

LEAD is a global venture corporation widely recognized for its work in cooperation, consulting, healthcare organizations, and sports properties. They are continuously working to improve lives through sports and health tech.
