Bryson DeChambeau comes clean about “brutal” outing with Phil Mickelson, talking about his Break 50 YouTube series

LIV Golf professional Bryson DeChambeau’s success on the golf course also translates to his YouTube career. In 2024, DeChambeau crossed 1 million subscribers on YouTube, thanks in major part to his Break 50 challenge which is being enjoyed by the viewers.

In the recent episode of the Break 50 challenge, DeChambeau was seen attempting to break 50 with legendary golfer Phil Mickelson. On Instagram, DeChambeau posted a picture of him with Mickelson, with the scores, and mentioned that the outing with the latter made him realize how brutal the challenge can be.

Bryson DeChambeau wrote:

“Episode 10 of Break 50 once again proved just how brutal this challenge can be… Even though we didn’t get the result we were looking for, I had an amazing time bouncing ideas around and hanging out with the great @philmickelson. Now, with only 2 episodes left of Season 1 we’re going to have to make something special happen. Who do you think the final two guests are?”

It’s been four days since Bryson DeChambeau uploaded the video with Phil Mickelson, and it has already garnered 2 million views. Like Mickelson, DeChambeau has gotten many popular names to appear on his channel. Former US President Donald Trump and golfer John Daly are among those who attempted the Break 50 challenge.

A look at how Bryson DeChambeau performed in 2024

In the 2024 season, Bryson DeChambeau couldn’t get a single victory in LIV Golf. While DeChambeau registered some top-10 and top-20 finishes, his best finish in the Saudi-backed tour came at LIV Golf Jeddah, where he finished in fourth place.

However, failure to win in LIV Golf does not mean DeChambeau had no success at all. In 2024, the American golfer won the prestigious U.S. Open. This was DeChambeau’s second Major championship victory, as he previously won the tournament in 2020.
