Sub-Zero meets quite a fiery end by Scorpion in the final showdown of Mortal Kombat, but even with all its gory fatalities, no death is ever permanent in the Mortal Kombat universe. Bi-Han’s own lore in the Mortal Kombat games is testimony to that, with Bi-Han being 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ed by Scorpion and later returning as Noob Saibot. Joe Taslim’s teased return in Mortal Kombat 2 seems to heavily indicate that it will be in the form of Noob Saibot.
With Taslim going from Sub-Zero to Noob Saibot in Mortal Kombat 2, it would do a lot more than simply bring Bi-Han back into the tournament. It would also be the first time Bi-Han’s villainous history has been shown in its totality in a cinematic context. Sub-Zero acting as the final boss of Mortal Kombat is something of a rarity in his overall character history, and his return as Noob Saibot would solidify Bi-Han as one of the primary villains of the modern Mortal Kombat movie series, while opening another door with it.
